Weekend In Lavender

The weather was glorious this Sunday, so we decided to take a drive into the countryside and stopped at some gorgeous lavender fields. I’m not usually a fan of lavender scented things – it always reminds me of elderly ladies and old-fashioned soap – but I have to say, in natura the lavender just smelled divine!

So we quickly immersed ourselves into the lavender garden – it was such a gorgeous setting; pure countryside, the lilac of the lavender filling our view as far as we could see, and the sun was shining beautifully.

We decided to stop at the adjacent farm cafĂ© – which was equally beautifully set amongst an orchard - for a spot of lunch and let Sunday be Sunday. It wasn’t anything spectacular, but it was lovely to just hang out, have a nice chat and the kids were making us laugh with their antics.

Becky devoured a massive scone and real fruit lemonade, while Alex enjoyed crawling on the grass (and trying to eat random stones and unripe fruit that had fallen off).

Daddy and Becky tucking into their lunch. The problem with John always taking the pictures is that he is rarely caught on camera himself!

He was just as happy as me, honest!
